Disclaimer: Although this is a fully functioning customizer, I highly recommend using it locally with openSCAD, since rendering times in the customizer are quite long.
Disclaimer II: This thing only contains the .scad* file needed for rendering. The source files are located in a github repository, since thingiverse does not make it easy to manage source files..
Disclaimer III: A lot of the parts I do not have in their physical form, so their measurements might be a little off. The parts which have datasheets including measurements are designed up to those measurements.
I wrote this thing so I could easily visualize the box mod I was planning to build. I live in Europe so the specific mod parts like PCB's and 510 connectors are either really expensive or I have to wait quite some time to receive them. So before ordering I can do a quick sanity check, to make sure I will order the proper parts in the proper dimensions.
This customizer provides different enclosures, 510 connectors, switches and displays.
You can print the result if you want to get a feeling for the finished product before drilling and cutting your enclosure.
The customizer consists of multiple tabs where you can select your parts and adjust their position and color.
When downloading files, you can skip box_mod.scad since this is only needed for the customizer. You can also skip all files with demo-*.scad, they are only used to generate the part preview renderings.
Locally your entry point is workbench.scad and all the other *.scad files need to be in the same directory. Simply download all file from the github repository, open workbench.scad with openSCAD.
Using the customizer
The customizer has two different view modes:
Visualisation: renders all parts in color with a see through lid
Single part view for body and lid renders only the enclosure parts with their cutouts
When saving a customized design, the customizer will generate 3 STL files, one of the whole box with all parts, which is pretty much only for preview .
The two others are for body and lid, each in a separate file, ready for slicing and printing.
The *.stl you see in the gallery are the files that are generated when the customizers default settings are used.
