Here is my new complete rework of the original cupholder cellphone holder, now a dock :)
Built for the Moto G4+ and other similar sized phones, through the blank bezel template into tinkercad and you can make your own size and spacers.
Glue a usb charging cable into the receptacle in the base of the holder and you have a secure dock. (pictured)
Assembly is easy, and can be customized to your needs (weighted base etc) I used one gopro thumbscrew, and no nut, and its tight and secure, 2 would be optimal and I would recommend normal nuts to secure not the rounded covered nut (it can interfere with the cable) I weighted mine with rice in a ziplock bag and glued the base on. Run your wiring through the base before gluing!!! you have been warned. ;)
Assembly: Top down
glue the bezel to your holder
glue in your usb connector (going through the cup first)
attach the holder to the cup with a set of gopro or similar thumbscrews, a bolt and nut will work just as well)
coil your cable to length inside the cup
add weight if you with and secure the cup base (I used 3 dabs of hot glue so I can take it apart later if need be
run to your car usb and you are ready to go
