E3D Titan Aero Extruder/Hot End mount for the Creality CR-10 printer.
This moves the print head nozzle about 15mm to the front of the printer. The vertical frame would need to be relocated to the rear so the whole bed can be utilized.
I just finished installing the mount and calibrated my extruder settings. Am using the E3D supplied stepper motor (0.9 degrees/step). Calibrated to 875 steps/mm on my printer.
Still need to modify the firmware to update the temperature probe setting to 5 (for Marlin), from the default value of 1, then start printing with it to see how it works.
The little bracket I made for where the extruder used to mount gives a place to secure the cables to the print head. Tap the hole for the PTFE tube fitting with 6mm thread. The hole opposite the fitting should fit a 4mm/6mm PTFE - just ordered some so to try.
Need four 3mm flat washers, two 3x10mm machine screws and two 3x6mm machine screws to secure the mount. Used two 3x10mm machine screws and nuts for the cable bracket.
Added CR-10AeroMount-r1.STL to work better with the slimmer E3D stepper motor (MT-1701HSM140AE) and allow the motor leads to go straight up. The prior version of the mount was modeled to work with the earlier version stepper motor I received from E3D (42BYGHM208P4.5-21-X2). The 1701 motor is about 60g lighter then the 42BYGHM208 and still offers 0.9 degree steps.
2019 March 06:
Added a version of the mount for the Volcano heating block/nozzle. Stepper motor/Aero Extruder moved up 8.5mm so no changes are required to the Z end limit switch. When I changed over from the V6 version of the mount to the Volcano version, barely had to touch the bed leveling nuts. Currently using the 0.8mm hardened nozzle.
