This is designed to mount a Harbor Freight Pittsburgh 1" Digital Indicator to the Creality CR-10 with Nexi-Tech's fan duct mod. It was inspired by Skydesigne's mount, although mine's simpler and easier to print (at the expense of being relatively flimsy). It seems stiff enough to get the job done, though. You will need a 1/4-20 or M6 nut and bolt to attach the indicator.
WARNING: The bottom of this mount is lower than the nozzle tip. Therefore, you'll have to level the bed with Z raised by 10 mm or so. Here's my technique:
Adjust the front left-hand levelling knob for the proper nozzle height. Use a sheet of paper, or whatever method you commonly use, to find the proper height
Raise the Z-axis by 10 mm, and attach the levelling mount.
De-energize the stepper motors.
With the probe touching the bed near the home position, zero the probe.
Manually, and slowly, move the hot end to the other three corners of the bed, turning each of the levelling knobs to get a zero reading. If your bed is like mine, there's a lot of stickiness and backlash, so it's helpful to wiggle the corners vertically while you're finding the best the adjustment.
Using this method, I've been able to get the height of all four corners to within +/- 0.01 mm of each other. This is with a 12-inch mirror tile purchased from my local hardware store. The original sheet of glass that came with the printer was quite warped.
UPDATE: An .stl file has been added for printers WITHOUT the fan duct mod.
