Remixed Hinged Filament Run-out Sensor mount (based on RickB's original design)
I downloaded and used this part for about 3 months before it broke/failed. I've addressed a few small issues which caused it to fail for me (see below)
1) Over-rotation
I had an issue caused by some of my filaments with a larger coefficient of friction. The hinge would over-rotate towards the hot-end and cause the filament to become kinked. To prevent this, I've added a small notch at the edge to ensure that the filament is never compressed/kinked
2) Fatigue failure
As the printer performs retracts the hinge oscillates which causes a flexural motion where the two screws are mounted. This is where my part eventually failed - breaking at this stress concentration. I recommend printing in PETG or ABS/ASA to help prevent this (particularly due to the heating of the extruder motor). I also thickened this section and increased the gap between the rod cut-out and the mounting holes
3) False triggering
Some of my filaments false trigger the filament runout sensor whilst others do not - I believe it's down to the tolerance of the guiding path - which I reduced, hoping to fix this problem but not 100% sure!
Happy Printing everyone!
