UPDATE 7: (06-06-2018) a great user by the name of searphin has looked up the rating of squash balls (softness-hardness).As you might know some are made harder than others and they have a color code to distinguish them.
so he has shared the code with me and i would like to share it with you all.
So from softer to firmer:
orange
double yellow
yellow
green
red
blue
So the softer the ball the more cushion it will give you and therefore less noise.
**IT WOULD BE GREAT TO FIND OUT WHAT RATING YOU ARE USING, SO PLEASE SHARE WITH ME AND I WILL POST YOUR FINDINGS***
UPDATE 6: (22-08-2017) I have found this link and code for anyone that has not yet bought a CR_10.
I believe this is the cheapest price you will ever find for this awesome printer.https://www.gearbest.com/3d-printers-3d-printer-kits/pp_441281.html?wid=21
coupon:CR1083
UPDATE 5: (28-07-2017) I am in the process of making an enclosure for the CR-10, super easy to build and cheap to make (IKEA style way to put together).will have the same feet idea.
UPDATE 4: I have added a racketball version for Kevin Le hans who told me these are way cheaper to buy. He will print them and test them for us. (this design does not have the cr-10 text on it as some one complained for adding it)
keep us posted Kevin.
UPDATE 3: Big leg now added here (works the same as the existing little leg except is taller so you can fit the electronic box underneath the cr-10 printer)
After this I will make a sleek box to enclose the lot.
It will give you 190mm clear (when ball is fixed on it) under the printer.see my little sketch
UPDATE 02: If you do end up 3D printing it, I ask you post a photo of it in action here, thankyou.
I also changed the licence- so no copies and/or remixes.
If you don't like it as it is, make your own that does not look like mine.
I don't like my designs butchered.
ALSO, WHO WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THESE LEGS LONGER SO YOU CAN FIT THE THING THAT SITS ON THE SIDE WITH ALL THE ELECTRONICS UNDER THE 3D PRINTER?
Let me know and i will make it.
Then i have planned to make a very sleek enclosure to the whole lot that will look a million bucks instead of the flinstone enclosure i am beginning to see.
UPDATE 01: look at the images I have attached in case you do not know what squash balls are.
Hi there.
After discussing on our facebook page ways to dampen the vibration created on surfaces from the CR-10 i have come up with this. I had made a similar thing for my old 3D printer
simply fit on the bottom of the frame, add squash balls and thats it.
post pictures when completed.
BTW, if you are thinking of buying a CR-10....I give this advice.
Stop thinking and buy it!
You will not regret it.
