It's not uncommon for a CR-10 or CR-10s to ship with a misaligned Z axis. In some cases it can cause binding and skipping in your Z screw. The issue is that the stepper is mounted directly to the chassis (using an injection molded part seen in the attached picture) and, apparently in some cases, that pulls the stepper too far back from alignment with the gantry. This 3mm spacer pushes the stepper out away from the chassis and back into alignment. I can easily modify the part for more or less spacing as 3mm might not work for everybody. Just ask in the comments. You will need longer M3 screws.

For strength I did 5 layers on top, bottom, and walls. The part will be screwed into place from multiple directions.
