Due to the huge demand of medical supplies, I have been working on a new mask design that is optimized to be 3D printed with a 0.6mm nozzle and a 0.4mm layer height. However, you can print with thinner nozzles without any problem.
It is designed in such a way that there are no retractions, which is why it avoids stringing and reduces printing time. It is also a simple design and due to the geometry, it is also very strong. If printing using the thick nozzle, the entire design uses only three lines, and zero fill.
It is also designed with greater safety and comfort for the user in mind. This design follows the curve of the forehead and does not squeeze the head, it only rests on the forehead, and a thin foam is placed on the inside to avoid any uncomfortable pressure points and to provide a seal. This seal is important since the design is also closed from above. This prevents contamination from falling in from the top.
Two simple rubber bands are used to secure the mask to the head. A two-hole puncher is used to make the holes to attach the transparent sheet.
