IMPORTANT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS
STAY HOME AND LIMIT THE SPREAD WHEN OUT FOR FOOD SHOPPING
EVERYONE IS A POTENTIAL SPREADER INCLUDING YOU!
1) Read the WHO advices, mask is useful to prevent spreading only in conjuction of the others means, and to be use in last resort while all shops are out of stock of appropriate/ official rated mask which is my case.
2) Ajust the size measuring your face. See measurement in the picture, increase of decrease the size using the scaling factor, for example for my girlfriend I printed it 88,7% of my size. Print the fit test to make sure it fit well. Print the test fit with rigid material, you will assess the fitting better. Press it a little againt your face, it should show no light under the shape.
4) Test the mask, it must be airtight all around (shave your beard)
3) Do not use paper like material, it get wet and crack. Alternative material is cotton pillowcase, preferably antibacterian and fine quality ex: 400 thread count. Use two layers only if you can breathe easily through it. It can be used with chirurgical mask to improve tigthness but only use these type of mask if your nearby hospital have enough. Otherwise bring your spare mask to the hospital instead of using them.
4) Only wear the mask for unavoidable food shopping, and stay home.
5) Wash extensively the mask and the clothe as soon as you return home and leave the mask 3 days minimum before using it again. You don't need to go out more than that, buy food for one week and stay home. Wash your hands after cleaning the mask.
6) you must use the mask with elastic to put pressure againt your face, it is the only way to get it airtigth.
7) use flex material it will be more comfortable.
8) control the mask after printing with a ligth, it must be perfect without holes.
9) no support, no raft, print circle part down
10) I added a blind cover to test the airtigthness. Blow gently to see if it leaks and where it leaks.
The mask has been designed based on my face 3D scan, but it fits quite well my girlfriend after size shrinkage of 88% in cura. I have heard people succeeding forming the mask better to their shape by heating it.
