Remixed this for 8mm x 3 mm magnets(the are slightly stronger than the 6mmx 3mm magnets... and its what i had on hand). I am using larger ball bearings too, 6.3mm or 1/4 inch ball bearings (again because it is what i had on hand, but you could take apart a 608 skateboard bearing and use the ball bearings)
it utilizes 8 magnets per side. The 2 protruding holes take 2 magnets each. The 4 holes without the protrusion are where the ball bearings go.
the holes are a tight fit, and may require minor filing. i put it in a vise to make sure the magnets were fully seated.
the 16 mm version is for most printers. they use the nut that is round with 4 holes.
the 18mm version is for printers like the ender 3 and cr10. they use the nut like in my image with only 2 holes.
required parts:
4 x ball bearings; just about any size will work (approximately 2mm-8mm)
4 x screws, m3 x 8-10mm
16 x 8mm round magnets 3mm thick
