The original Coffee Cup by @barspin is easily the most used item I printed so far.
I printed two cups using the original models but had problems to get the second (black cup) watertight. I solved that with a thin layer of glue in the problematic area. But that spoiled the food-safety and you can see it "shimmering".
I wondered why it was not being watertight and checked the model. It contains of two volume objects. One is to make the bottom plain and printable without supports. It sits inside the real model of the cup and they are slightly separated.
Using Simplify 3D with a good adjusted printer and clean printing filament does result in a small gap at the bottom part of the cup which makes it harder to be fully watertight. It also does not sit plain anymore after some days of usage and with liquid getting into the small gap when washing dishes.
I used Meshmixer to remove the extra object and made the model having a "real" flat surface instead. That model printed much better and has still a flat base after weeks of daily usage.
There are three pictures. Two of them show the original model printed with white and black BDP / GreenTec which is form stable for temperatures up to 110° C and is food-proof!
The third shows the fixed model printed with "BDP Flax" in comparison to the normal white BDP. The usage times of both cups are similar at that point and both freshly cleaned. One can easily see how the BDP Flax is taking much less stains from the coffee. It also feels more "expensive" and a bit like "ceramic". Needles to say that I love this filament!
