Our new house has some cavity sliders between the garage and the rest of the house, due to having cats that like to explore but are meant to be inside we like to keep these sliders locked (because cats are smart and sliding doors pose no challenge to them)
Only one side of these doors has a latch/handle for actually engaging and disengaging the lock, the other side is a typical coin/butter knife slot for emergency unlocking - as with most privacy style locks.
I have no trouble operating this with my giant thumb and nail combination, it's relatively simple and easy to do but my poor wife with her tiny child like fingers has absolutely no hope.
So, I spent a day and made about 6 iterations of this to find one I can snap on and operate the screw head without slipping on the surface (or slipping off into the cavity) and this is the result.
I'm sorry I don't know the brand or make of latch, but the privacy knob is about 18mm in diameter, has a 2.8mm wide/deep slot
