My friend Susanne bumped into a problem, that she has no classroom document projector for her classes, but it would make those session so much more visual and entertaining. It should be fold-able easy to carry and assemble... These devices are not common in NZ and ordering it is quite expensive. I thought I give a try and investigate what could we do. I found a quite good app for mobile phone DroidCam (Paid version DroidCamX coming with higher resolution) what works very well of capturing video feed and transferring it to the computer what can be put on a projector. So than the "easy" part came to create a fold-able 3d printed Classroom Document camera stand to support any mobile phone, that is how I came up with this design.
Features:
This stand is fold-able to fit is a bag or even in your pocket
The arm and device holder has perforations enabling 30,45,60,75,90 degrees arm inclinations so height of camera is adjustable.
It has different setup options, legs folded forward e.g. for 90 degree setup, or leg folded backward with counter weights like couple of books for e.g. 45 or 75 degree setup.
The change between setups can be done by pulling the 40mm lock screw out and adjusting the arm and device holder and put back the screw in the matching hole for the new position.
parts to print:
2x l1
2x l2
1x la1
1x la2u
1x head
1x deviceh
you will need for assembly
6 x m3 20mm
2 x m3 40mm
1 x m3 12mm(you might need to cut this one)
m3 nuts m3 flat washers and springy washers.
When you put together l1 to l2 and l1 to head you might want to use 1 nut 1 springy washer and another nut on top so it wont get loose so easy while using it...
I used PLA printed on prusa i3 variant 0.4 layer and hot end
I created "_support" files to make it easier to print on regular printers, so suggest to use those.
I also rendered a folded and one scenario open model to help you understand how to build the thing together....
Have fun :)
