The model represents the Complex of the Santissima Annunziata, located in Sulmona, Italy. The complex is dedicated to the SS. Annunziata and constituted by the church with the annexed palace. Church and hospital were founded in 1320 by the lay brotherhood of the Compenitenti.
The 3D model is already divided into 6 parts for 3D printers with 20x20cm plate. Two parts make up the facade of the church, the remaining four are assembled to make the facade of the adjacent building.
The 3D model is not a simple static replica, but there are 4 tactile sensors to be printed with a conductive filament. By wiring each of these parts with an Arduino UNO board and a capacitive circuit, 3D printing can be made tactile. An audio track is associated with each touch sensor, which allows information on the architectural element touched. The tactile elements are: the main portal, the door of the clock, the bell tower and a double-arched window.
