Hanging stained glass window ornament with coloured "glass".
The pictured ornament is printed using antique gold silk pla for the front and back, sparkly red for the star and translucent blue and green representing the sky and hills.
However if you don't have all those colours, a good effect may be achieved by printing all the window pieces in clear PLA and then colouring with alcohol markers or inks.
You need one front, one back, one star and two of each pane to make 1 finished decoration. For consistency of finish (the face in contact with the bed is usually smoother than the finished top) I usually flip one of each of the panes in the x-axis so I print 1 as-is and 1 mirror of each pane.
The pieces have been designed so that they fit together nice and tightly and the back should be a clip fit though for permanence add a spot of glue along the edges of the back piece to make assembly permanent.
Depending on the accuracy of your printer, you may need to trim or gently sand the edges of the 8 panes and the star for them to fit. They should not be too tight. Don't worry about sanding taking off the shine/translucency as you will not see the edges of any of the pieces once the model is assembled.
Originally this was designed as a Christmas ATC (Artist Trading Card) and it is sized accordingly (excluding the loop).
