The Christian Science Society was organized in Steamboat Springs on July 22, 1908, when Margaret Crawford, founder of Steamboat Springs with her husband James, returned from a trip to Missouri with enthusiam for the new religion. Services were held in various places until 1934, when they hired Ernest Campbell to construct this building for $1,345. This is an excellent example of the Rustic style architecture, with a stone foundation, log walls in both the interior and exterior, and gabled ends. The building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places ( http://www.coloradohistory-oahp.org/programareas/register/1503/cty/rt.htm ) in 2007. #Steamboat_Springs
