These are some improvements to a small Chinese telescope bought from bang good. As supplied the spotting scope holder is useless, the scope is held by three screws in one plane so after adjustment it can still move and could not get it to hold the setting. I made another holder with the scope being held with 6 screws in two planes and now after I adjusted the scope I never had to adjust it again. I also made it a little higher then the original so I have a little more space when I am looking through the scope. I also made a lens cover for the spotting scope because I use the telescope to observe the sun with a solar filter in front of the main tube, but it is dangerous to leave the spotting scope open and pointing at the sun.
My telescope came with a defective eyepiece so I bought another one but 1.25 inch diameter so I made an adaptor for 1.25 inch parts which are more commonly available.
Next I will try to fit the telescope to a good quality photographic tripod as the present mount is too unstable.
