This adapts a Canon EF lens to a C-Mount camera.
Use a canon lens for your security camera, or take star and deepsky images!
These adapters are available from 15-50€ at ebay, usually the different way around though.
Please note that this adapter lacks of a filter mount.
The C-Mount thread is printed, worked like a charm on the UP. You may need to make sure that it turns out good enough to use with your printer and decide for yourself if you want to use a plastic adapter with your precious lens!
I used a EF mount thread I found here but I don't recall which one after all this time, I'll dig in my files later and s if I can find it.
I had to change a few things to make if fit more tightly, and it could still use some modifications. If you know a good EF mount model let me know!
Unfortunately I can not present more pictures with this setup, as I tossed my laptop off the balcony table(fortunately only a 12v power supply broke and the camera was mounted stable and with long cables).
Attention:
The adapter needs to be made a little bit longer to get in focus with the 18-30mm range of the 18-55 Canon kit zoom. Make sure to turn off the auto focus on the lens ;-) D'oh!
The Camera in the picture is from http://astrophoto.co.uk
There are also 40-50€ cameras on ebay/Aliexpress available you can modify yourself.
If you want to know more about what these cameras are capable of if mounted to a better lens or telescope with tracking, check out (not mine) this video
