Caesars Palace today is one of the oldest and most historical hotels in Las Vegas. The hotel has expanded five times! And a nother expansion is in the Works! The Centurion Tower, 16 Floors High, 680 room building was completed on August 5th, 1966. The 14 Story, 222 Room Roman Tower was added in 1974. In 1979, the 22 Story, 600 room Fantasy Tower (Today Fourm Tower) was added. Eventually in 1997, the 29 Story, 2,400 room Palace Tower was completed. By 2001 the historical Maximus theature, shaped like a giant sphere was demolished to make way for the remodel of the original three striped brown towers into designs that mached the Palace Tower, the buildings no longer lit up with green stripes at night. The Maximus Theater was replaced with Theater designed as a replica of the Colosseum in Rome. In 2005 the 26 Story, 949 Room, Augustus Tower was constructed as Ceaser's latest addition. The Fourm Shops, again expanded over a parking lot ajecent to the Strip, in 2005. Caesars still has big plans ahead, including ANOTHER, 29 Story, 1,017 Room Tower, and more casino space.
