A Class 357 train belonging to C2C heading east from East Ham. These trains, part of the 'Electrostar' family, were delivered in 1999-2002 to replace 1960s slam-door stock on the London, Tilbury and Southend line from Fenchurch St, and are currently the only type on the line. They can seat 262 passengers per four-coach set in a 3+2 configuration, and are capable of 100 mph although maximum line speed is only 75 mph. Power is via 25kV AC overhead lines and drives three 560kW motors per train. The train here is in the older metallic blue and white livery (a vinyl adhesive applied over the original white and green paint) which was introduced when C2C was transferred from Prism Rail to National Express. The class 357's are now being returned to white with grey doors, and the C2C logo replaced with that of National Express. It is likely that the franchise will be awarded to Stagecoach in the future, which would see the trains in a livery similar to those of South West Trains. #C2C #class_357 #London #LTS #railway #train
