Designed for the RepRap Libro 3D printer at the Pueblo City-County Library District:
Use three of these nifty plastic spring clips to mount a glass sheet above a wooden base in a way that provides fine leveling via the turning of the mounting screws. Each clip is made to be mounted with a 1/4" x 20 thread x 1.5 inch long machine screw (Metric equivalent M6 x 38mm long). The clip is suitable to hold a 1/8 inch ( 3mm) thick piece of glass.
The clips feel very soft and springy to the touch, but once mounted, the combined tension and the geometry of their push makes the platform extremely firm but adjustable.
Mounting details:
Trace the edges of the build plate. Mark the hole 3/8 inches (10 mm) out from the edge of the plate. The drill a 3/16" (5 mm) hole for the screw into the wood. Tighten the screw until the glass slot is level with the wooden base before trying to clip in the glass.
Overall range of adjustability: 1/4 inch (6 mm) from highest to lowest
