This is a mount for the Turnigy Bonsai flying wing that mounts a Mobius Mini and Eachine TX02 FPV camera on the front of the wing.
There are two versions to download - the _tv version has simply been rotated to make it look better on Thingiverse, the other version is the original export from Fusion 360.
The center hole allows the Mobius to be mounted with the metal heat-sink/camera mount attached for cooling. It also helps stop the Mobius sliding out backwards, but with velcro this isn't necessary.
When printed in PLA as described below it weights around 8 grams. I've tried to remove as much extra plastic as possible and still have it fairly rigid.
The way I've mounted it means the Mobius can only see a very small amount of the tip of the wing, and the FPV camera can't see the wing at all. When mounted the angle is such that it faces straight ahead when in flight.
Mounting tips
The mount is attached to the Bonsai using 3mm cable ties. The two front cable ties holes are designed to sit above the foward slot in the plywood battery mount. The cable tie runs over the battery strap and back up.
The rear cable ties run through the foam, and the battery strap runs under these to allow the battery to be mounted slightly rearward to fix the center of gravity (see notes below).
The FPV Battery for the TX02 sits behind the COG before the motor. This helps offset the weight of the Mobius and FPV camera.
Center of Gravity
Using this mount and the Mobius will cause the Bonsai to be nose-heavy. I rectified this by moving the battery back by 10mm as shown. Your mileage may vary.
Notes
Pictures show a previous version that is heavier
I'm running 850mah, 3S flight batteries for around 8 min flight time
I'm using 750mah 1s FPV batteries for around 30 min FPV time
The combined weight of the TX02 and battery is around 31 grams, the combined weight of a TS5823 transmitter, aerial and camera (without mount) is around 40 grams, so this is surprisingly a lighter option, plus it doesn't use the flight battery.
range on the TX02 (200mW) is great, I can fly the Bonsai out of sight and still get good reception
I'm using a Mobius Mini B with 135 degree lens.
Cable tie holes have recessed channels for the ties to run through.
