BED LEVELING HELPER . . .
When leveling up my print bed by hand it's helpful to have a mark on each thumb wheel so I can see how much it's moved "out of tune". I put a bump on each wheel and colored it with silver Magic Marker (TM). I also replaced my springs with silicone stand-offs and installed an "auto bed lever", Now it's easy to see that the bed level is exactly where I set it and that it has not moved. Before I installed these custom wheels I was constantly guessing..
Of course you can just as easily make a mark on your wheels with a Magic Marker (TM), a little piece of tape or by filing in a grove.
My custom wheels are huge; much bigger than the originals or than the upgrade wheels you can buy on Amazon and else where. Bigger wheels make it easier to dial in smaller adjustments. Also I think they look really cool.
In fact, there are a lot of mods I've made to my Ender 3 Pro just for looks. I was talking to a friend one night and we agreed that modding our 3d printers is similar to modding motorcycles. The custom gear just looks so cool!
