EDIT: I've abandoned this project. I'm leaving the files up, because the base frame is solid. The phone holder, and lens holder sort of suck though, and I never did work out a good phone holder design. There is potential, but I lost interest.

This is my version of the Beast Grip. I saw a couple of versions on here, but they either used threaded rods, or were just not what I was looking for.
This one makes use of 3D printed parts, aluminium linkages meant for RC rock crawlers, and a fairly cheap clip on 2x lens. My specific version uses the following:
2 x Aluminium Linkage Rod, M3 x 6mm x 95mm (vertical rods that hold the lens carrier)
2 x Aluminium Linkage Rod, M3 x 6mm x 105mm (horizontal rods that hold the phone clamp)
1 x Aukey 2x Telephoto clip on lens.
The rods I used had slightly different OD's. The 95mm length rod was 6.01mm, while the 105mm length rod was 5.84mm. The parts are designed with those in mind and may require some drilling / sanding to fit your parts.
The lens carrier is designed for a specific clip in lens (see my make), but you could easily design a different lens carrier. It needs to have 6mm holes for a sliding fit, 80mm center to center. With that info, you could design anything you want.
Additionally, you could use longer horizontal rods to be more flexible on the fitment of different phones.
This design, as is, holds my OnePlus One, which is a 5.5" phone, with room for a larger phone potentially, as well as a smaller one. It should hold an iphone or iphone plus just fine.
This is the first version, I am still revising the phone clamp to something spring loaded, as well as making the lens carrier more universal; maybe clamp something to clamp in a threaded fitting. I worked with what I have.
The whole thing should be printable without supports. Just be smart with how you lay it out on the build platform.
