NOTE:
It would probably be a good idea to make the outer diameter of the torus bigger as the material on the outside of the holding bolts is very thin. This can be done by editing the SCAD file but I haven't got around to it yet.
UPDATE 02/04/2017:
Uploaded 8mm STL for complete assembly and updated SCAD file to reduce counterbore and increase depth of holes that bolts go through to reduce "wiggle".
UPDATE 30/03/2017 2:
Refined SCAD file to include better mating surface for bearings.
UPDATE 30/03/2017:
Parameterised the model to work for other rod / bearing sizes (untested). Flipped SCAD file 180 degrees for printing in correct orientation (haven't altered STL files yet). At the moment the inner and outer radii of the torus don't scale properly but are easily fiddled with manually to change its thickness as desired.
Bearing block for 633z bearings to be used on 8 or 9mm rod with Makerbeam and 3mm diameter bolts.
Print two of bearing_mount and one of bearing_mount_tab for each bearing assembly at 9mm. Bearing_mount_8mm.stl is the complete bearing and includes improvements made to the SCAD design.
Designed to replace linear bearings as the ones I was using on 8mm rod were terrible.
SCAD file can be adjusted for 8mm / 9mm rod etc.
Tightening bolts increases preload and fits well when I print it out, although you may need to adjust part diameter depending on your printer.
