Battlestar Galactica Project - Standard Hangar Bay

One of the 10 hangar bays of the mighty Galactica. Drawn from the set blueprints but also slightly modified to fit the center-to-center distance of each launch tube (19') as measured when you scale the official ortho to 4640' long, 1821' wide (pods extended), and 600' tall. These are the best dimensions I can find and they make sense because if you measure the height of the launch tube when the ortho graphic is scaled to this they match the set blueprints. The actual set that was built for the show only had the front half of this with the tool room, but they green-screened in the back half or a long shot of other bays on occasion. Each bay has 8 tubes with 2 control rooms, a tool room, a repair bay, 3 bulkhead doors, and 6 viper berths. It is never explained in the show where the other vipers are stored, but I'm working on that. Each bay is separated by an airlock/elevator, and there are 6 elevators and 5 hangar bays per flight pod. #BSG #Battlestar #Galactica #BattlestarGalactica
