I wanted a battery bank that could charge or run an IPAD, USB device, laptop, and/or any device for an extended number of charges or for an extended amount of time; I also wanted the versatility of a 12v cigarette adapter. The box had to be small, light, and pack a large number of watt hours. The battery also had to be able to deliver a large number of amps and have a good C rating. The device can be charged from the cigarette adapter and it can run a 19v laptop, or a 24v device with DC to DC converters. The printing and wiring of the device is simple. Lightweight lithium batteries of this caliber are expensive ($150) but SLA batteries are about $20. Care must be taken in connecting the wiring; care must be taken in using the correct charger, you should have the appropriate crimp tool, do not short the battery or confuse polarities. I used a screw and bolt as a terminal block for positive and negative, the screw connects to spade connectors. Spade connectors are included with the 12v car adapter, voltage meter, and usb converter. I used Silicone insulated 12 gauge wire (because I had spare wire); but the components are only rated for 5 amps; thus I could have used a much lesser gauge of wire. I use the same battery for other purposes and I want to support the maximum amperage possible for that battery. Please check the chart that talks about amps, distance, and voltage. CARE MUST BE TAKEN NOT TO SHORT THE BATTERY; ESPECIALLY WITH LIPO. K2 lists Caution warnings on the battery to which you must adhere to and be cognizant of.
