Alternative to a battery driven LED tealight. Although the G4 LED is 12 V AC/DC you can use it with every DC Voltage between 9 - 20 V because it has as a stepdown converter build in. I usually use an old laptop power supply (19 V).
The base fits exactly to the following tealight shade:
Voronoi LED Egg tealight shade made by funkshinhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1554362
It has an inner diameter of 39.8 mm at the bottom.
I printed a white and an neon-orange one - see pictures.
You need the following kind of LED:
G4 DC 12V LED COB Bulb rated with 6W (it really has only 1.5W - Chinese like to exaggerate), Ebay number: 312003598494
10 pcs about 6.6 €
and Socket:
DC Power Supply Jack Socket Female Panel Mount Connector 5.5 x 2.1mm, Ebay number: 263411090080
10pcs about 1.1 €
You don't need glue or something else. The DC Connector (5.5 x 2.1 mm) is screwed in and the LED fits excakty in the base.
Print the part
Solder 2 wires to the Connector and put the wires through the base
Screw in the Connector
Solder the LED to the wires und press the LED in the base
You don't have to take care for the polarity.
