Bare Island In 1885 concerned British colonists thought an invasion from Russians was imminent. Bare Island Fort was built to protect 'Sydney's back door'- Botany Bay - thus settling the minds of the early settlers. Enter a world of military pride, shocking scandals and hidden secrets. We will bring out the big guns to impress you on this tour! You may recognise Bare Island as the location for some thrilling action sequences in a well know movie... visit to find out more! On Sundays The Bare Island Fort is open for guided tours. Tickets can be purchased prior to the tour on site at the entrance to the Fort. Bookings are essential. For group bookings over 20 people, please contact the National Parks and Wildlife Service on 02 9247 5033.
