First Versus3D wonderful design and Thank You for it.!!!!!
I loved this design for my predator since we all know how stock heat assembly sucks and how much of an upgrade it is to use a standard E3DV6.
In my case Im always messing with printers and threads in plastic will work but its hard to know when your using too much torque and then bam you strip the threads.
Plus looking at the mag ball upgrade.
I decided to try and combine this design with the stock effector.
Basically I dropped the design into fusion cut away the bottom half and left the top half added holes and a spot for M3x30mm screws and M3 nuts.
So this is not for the faint of heart you will be cutting away material from your stock effector
please be careful maybe cut less an adjust as necessary but its on you.
Try not to remove any material from the metal cross bar on the stock effector makes it a lot more rigid.
After cutting away the material you have to drill 2 through holes on the effector Im including a template use so you can mark what material you will remove and mark or center punch the 2 holes for drilling.
Once thats done you need to counterbore the plate so the head of the screw sets flush since all the current fan shrouds use that area and need to be flat you can use a bigger drill just enough for the head of the m3 screw to be flush I rather it be flat but who has counterbores unless your a machinist. Or use a drill and slightly remove the angle that's how I did it.
I also modified the plate where the level sensor mounts as you can see in the pics.
Ive used different fan shrouds and the best for me is from Bakak plus it uses 4020 fans which this design already has mount holes.
I did print using support only from the build plate and went 1% bigger scale because of the shrinkage in ABS. I do suggest anything near the hot end in ABS or PC
Hopefully that helps some of you that are brave enough to try.
Keep in mind you will need the heat sink cap clamp, fan shroud for the e3d heat sink and some kind of blower shroud for the 4020 fans from the original maker which is versus3D. I didn't feel comfortable putting his designs with mine.
Thanks and good luck !!
