Let there be light!
I wanted to add some LED lights so that I can easily check the printer at night.
Depending on the LED strip that you have/bought you can place 2 strips in series next to each other on a 15x2 aluminium strip.
You can use any material for the strip, but the dimensions must be the same (some modification can be done, but there is not much plastic left to make the hole wider).
Mounting
I have installed some temporarily m3 screws, until the right sizes arrive. I will update the sizes when my package arrives.
Power
The anycubic I3 mega has a positive and minus terminal left on the power supply, so you can easily get power from that and route the cable through the 220v-110V slot on the left of the printer (since 99% of the people won't have to change it anyway).
There is also a switch box for this type of switch included in the files, this uses 4 holes next to the 220v-110v port on the left.
You will need:
2 wire terminals
some wire
connectors(optional)
switch(optional)
wiremesh/sleeve(optional)
Note(s)
I used some heatshrink to mask up the solder connection of the wire and secure it every 2 LED's onto the aluminum strip.
The holes in the holders are intended, this gives you space to wire the cable and reduces plastic & print time, how cool!
For the people that have no idea what I am talking about, I included a wiring schematic in the files aswell.
