This is my take on a low noise hotend-cover for the Anycubic I3 Mega. With no grilles for the fans there is already a significant noise reduction, a lot of designs on thingiverse use this basic concept. This even gets better by using a silent fan (in my case a Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX for the heatsink cooling, the part cooler is stock Delta BFB04512HHA).
There's an angled face at the inside front to mount a short LED strip (~ 9 mm width, I connected the LEDs to the heatsink fan, so they light up when the fan is running). I'm also using my printed dual outlet part cooler, which is also available in my designs, see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4872862.
The mounting holes are sized to take heat set M3 thread inserts, for more information see this article https://hackaday.com/2019/02/28/threading-3d-printed-parts-how-to-use-heat-set-inserts/
Shown int the pictures is a variant with cutouts in the front (better airflow to the outside), but there's also a closed version without the cutouts included. The FreeCAD files are also available, so you can customize or remix the cover easily.
