I bought a two LED strips pack on Ebay for $15 because I wanted lights for my printer. I found that lights on the top frame does not light up the whole print area very well, and it looks cooler near the print bed.
I decided to remix the duct I'm using (extended version for sensor) and add a flat base for the LED strip tape to stick to.
Any 12v LED strip light can work. You will have to cut 3 sections and solder wires to make a U shape.
I bought a:
5M RGB 5050 Non Waterproof LED Strip light 12V Powerhttp://r.ebay.com/E5N4cT
Update - 4/16/2017
I also found the sticky back is not strong enough after a few prints and will fall off, use super glue
Also the duct corners will start to warp up. I kind of like it that way (it gives it more of a bowl effect), but just a warning.
