This is a model of a Amphenol mini-UHF 2.5 GHz (L-Band) Jack Connector for very low loss LMR-240 (0.240" diameter) and RG-8X coaxial cables.

This connector is a 'jack' meaning that it has a female pin and is movable, unlike a socket which is typically stationary.

A SO-239 UHF connector is only good to 50 MHz and this connector is good to 2.5 GHz so it has 50x the bandwidth (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UHF_connector).

Smaller connectors cannot use large diameter low loss coaxial cables, so this connector bridges that gap.
