Real-world build of a AM loop DX antenna with a apx. 16.5 in. square element (apx. 90ft. of wire) that couples to a nearby AM receiver ferrite rod antenna (no physical connection). Third-party's similar build, plans, kits, parts, and direct connection info at links below.

No cut allowances are present in CAD file as they will be added later in CAM. Center housing will hold a variable capacitor. Assembled with Titebond glue from CNC cut 0.75in. Purebond oak plywood. Bezel will be polished stainless steel and hold variable capacitor in place (and provide some bling).

Overly complicated design (which happens when you have CAD and CNC's) with a lower shelf to protect the bottom copper strands (and add weight).

These work great to pull in distant signals when tuned (via. the variable capacitor) to frequency that the AM receiver is expecting. It still seems like there is some magic involved even when you know exactly how it works... Coil is a continuous conductor - unlike what appears in my model.
