AFV: M-1101
A-Folded-Vehicle (AFV) Series No. 2
This is the second installment in the series of models known as A-Folded-Vehicle or AFV. As you’ll recall, this series of model vehicle “kits” can be printed on a 6- x 6-inch 3D printer bed. This enables you to obtain all of the parts for this model in a single printing session.
The Model
This 1:56 scale 15-part kit (with four optional gussets) is the M-1101 Light Tactical Trailer (LTT) manufactured by Silver Eagle in Portland, OR USA. This model is a follow-on companion piece to the M-1025 HMMWV (AFV Series No. 1). You can locate the M-1025 here:

A step-by-step assembly guide is provided for making your own LTT. A trailer hitch piece from this kit can be retrofitted to the M-1025. Testors Liquid Cement for Plastic Models (#3507) is recommended for assembling your model.
Enjoy.
Step-By-Step
Each step is accompanied by its own photograph. There are 15 parts in this kit for the M-1101 LTT.
Begin the assembly just like the previous model and cement two wheel halves together. Repeat this process for building two complete wheels. Press fit a wheel mount into the hub of each wheel.
Step 1. Cement the frame to the underside of the trailer bed. Center the axles in the wheel openings. Also, watch the orientation of the frame—the flat portion of the tongue should be aligned with the bottom side of the bed.Step 2. Attach the wheel mounts to the bottom of the axles.Step 3. Cement one wheel well cover to the floor of the bed.Step 4. Fix the corresponding side panel to the bed and wheel well cover.Step 5. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for the other side of the bed.Step 6. Cement the tailgate in place.
Add the reinforcing grille to the front of the tailer and mount the trailer hitch to the rear bumper on an M-1025. There are four optional gussets included for reinforcing the inside of the trailer. Your AFV M-1101 LTT model is now complete. And stay tuned for future entries in this series, as well as other models, just follow me and you’ll never miss another model—there are some extremely large-scale models in the development stages, for example and you won’t want to miss ‘em.
And Finally,
I apologize for this endorsement of my new book about modeling, but buying this book enables me to continue publishing these FREE 3D models like the new AFV series. The book can be ordered from Amazon in a softbound format ($24.95). Thank you and, also, thanks for reading!
