I wanted to make a slider you can Print that will work on almost all types of 20x20 Aluminium profiles. It uses 4mm PTFE bowden tubing as the material in contact with the aluminum profile. It makes contact in 8 places (4 on each end).
The screws at the end adjust the pressure of the bowden tubes against the profile, by using ramps.
You have to adjust the screws to find a compromise between a wiggle free slider and friction.
The nature of the design requires pieces of bowden tubing of equal length and benefit from a tube with a V-Cutout at the end. I have included a part for trimming the tube using a sharp tool, for example a wood chisel.
To make sure the Part in the core doesn't move compared to the outer part, I used some bowden Tubing mounted in groves. This isn't needed for the entire length, just some in the back and some in the front.
I might use this for a z-axis as it might have to much friction for a x or y-axis.
Also it should shed some weight for using it as a x- or y-axis
It needs only a little bit of hardware to assemble.
I used:
4x 6mm M3 screws
4x M3 brass inserts
2x 30mm M3 screws
2x M3 nuts
and around 1/2 m of 4mm bowden tubing
