Warning! These are very, very long prints. I originally made these a year or two ago to see how large of a print I could make on my FFCP and they've been my "kitchen drawer" on my computer ever since. Nowadays I find complete computer drawers selling on EBay or Amazon for a pretty low price but I didn't see any when I made these. I figured I'd finally post these in case anyone wants to make their own.
The dimensions, in millimeters (which I got from a CD-ROM drive) are as follows:
DrawerBox 150 x 146 x 41
Drawer 150 x 139 x 36
Front 148 x 42 x 3
3.5 DrawerBox 105 x 101 x 25
3.5 Drawer 103 x 96 x 20
3.5 Front 101 x 25 x 3.5
The screw holes in the Drawer and Front are centered on the DrawerBox, with 3 inch spacing to allow the use of a standard drawer pull sold at local hardware stores. For the 3.5 drawer the holes have 2 inch spacing. I had to build my own.
What is nice about these prints is that you can build your own custom front that you can change without reprinting the rest. The thickness isn't critical but the screw holes should be centered on the front. The front is a little larger and when closed hides both the drawer and box and gives a cleaner look. These prints are also good for getting rid of any ugly color filament since the inside prints not visible when closed.
Most computers have clips with pins of some kind that fit into the side of whatever accessory that installs in a 5.25 slot. You'll probably need to grind the ends of the pins down a bit so they won't scratch on the 5.25 drawer. I made the box sidewalls a little thicker but mine still needing grinding. I didn't want to go any thicker because it would've made an already long print even longer. I also wanted a drawer with nice flat sides.
For the 3.5 print I 've never seen any in this size that didn't use screws and designed with this in mind.
