These are 3D puzzle toys with a small ball bearing that you navigate through a 3D labyrinth. The idea was to create modular, customizable, mini 3D mazes that could be snapped together to create a larger, more challenging 3D maze. Each modular maze, which has an entrance/exit for the bearing on each side to connect up with other mazes is about 2" square. The mazes snap together quite nicely with a standard puzzle-piece type snap shape. I used a standard 4.5mm BB gun pellet as the ball bearing.
These are intended to be fun customizable toys. I made a grid-like template that can be used to quickly make your own mazes. After I made the template, it took me about ten minutes apiece to cutaway the spaces for the sample mazes. In the future, I will probably make improvements to the the snap mechanism and the template sizing. I would also like to make other templates that perhaps incorporate circles or popular icons.
There's two sample mazes uploaded, and I made both quickly from the template. If you want to make your own mazes, I recommend using Tinkercad. Import the template into Tinkercad, and use rectangular holes to cutaway spaces for the ball, or click on the Tinkercad link below and copy and edit. There's already two properly sized hole cutaways in the file that can be duplicated.
