DON'T use the mockup STL file, it doesn't have current sub parts
This is a chassis system for a Cobra 37mm flare launcher. You still have to own the flare launcher itself.
Uses AR15 pistol grip and carbine buttstock. If you wish, you can thread a regular carbine buffertube into the buttstock mount and that works just fine.
I printed out the first in silver and it's kinda ugly.. Until you put the black flare launcher and black buttstock on it. Then it's kinda cool. I think the blue/silver filament will look great.
29/05/2017 - updated by splitting the bottom rail into parts that are part of the upper sections instead of it being a separate part.
07/05/2017 - merged all of the files into one mockup freecad file and then created STLs from each piece.
06/05/2017 - big update, cleaned up all the scattered files, created "v2" STL files. The whole thing should print and be lined up for gluing together. I did a quick and dirty print of "v1) at 20% .2mm layers and it's all still pretty strong. Used superglue to put it all together.
02/05/2017 - Sorry for the mess of files. I just keep uploading the newest as I split them out into manageable pieces. Fixing lots of dimensions. Adding BIG pins to join upper rail segments.
30/4/2017 - First print, the rail that the flare launcher mounts to is 1mm too wide. I narrowed it. I'll eventually put undersize pin holes back on it.
I'm working on printing the pistol grip area right now and will make updates as soon as I can test fit. - update - pistol grip area is CLOSE.. Need to fix the pistol grip mount angle and height.
This is my first attempt at a chassis for my 37mm Cobray launcher using Freecad. Will use standard AR15 grip and screw when I'm done.
Things to do:
done 1) break up top rail into printable chunks, particularly the toprail
done 2) when splitting toprail, create "pin" on end part and pocket on main part
3) re-zero everything centerline on X axis.
4) more mounting pin holes?
I do plan to create bundle of STL files when ready to print it
