There seem to be loads of 3.5 to 2.5 inch drive adaptor plates around but none that maintain the position or location of the power and SATA connector.
This one does. I've tested it on my HP G6 servers and it works great for putting 2.5 inch SFF SSD's into a server with 3.5 inch LFF caddies.
Cones are positioned to locate into the screw holes on the SSD to prevent additional screws being required. The 4 holes to mount the adaptor to the drive caddy / sled are sized so that the existing screws will cut their way in. Keep an eye on the screw directly next to the SSD as if it's too long it might cause a problem.
