28mm miniature Boat Tiles by ProfessorChubbs

This is a set of tiles to make sailing ships/boats for 28mm miniatures. A 1-inch grid is modeled into the tiles to aid in gameplay. This uses a snap-together system for you to create ships as large or small as you like. Print out the tiles you want, print a bunch of connector pieces, then snap the connector pieces between the tiles until the whole stays together.

Q: How well do these stay together?
A: They're a little wobbly, but not enough to throw off the game. You'll be able to push entire ships around without them falling apart. Picking a ship up is a delicate matter
Q: Do these need supports?
A: Most of them do, yeah. I use Simplify3D, so I was able to pick and choose where the supports went; you might not be as lucky with free slicers. If you do have something that lets you place your own supports, I recommend just leaving one pillar in the corner of the four corner connector holes instead of filling the whole thing; it'll bridge fine

A: Printrbot Simple Metal, 1.7mm PLA, .3 layer height

Q: Wait, the sails aren't printed, right?
A: Nah, that's muslin and thread
Q: How can you have a sailing ship without cannons?

A: We don't talk about #10
Q: Does the wheel spin?
A: It should, though you'll have to carefully dislodge it at first. It's print-in-place after all
Q: What about a forecastle/sterncastle?
A: [Bane voice] "That comes later." Srsly, I'm working on it, but that's a whole other ballgame.
Q: Are those minis printed?
A: Nope; pretty sure all of them are from Reaper
