The design of the Jectus Mouse borrows from the fluid motion of the user in relation with the games played. It is inspired by machines of flight such as jets. The center mouse button/touch pad is a direct response to the lack form factor exploration that exists in the market currently. By creating a cantilevered boom that is pressure sensitive, we can create a center button that not only scrolls like a wheel and depresses like a button, but also can be gently manipulated in three separate axes: (Up/down, left/right, front/back [via touch sensor])

The mouse steps out of the way of the user with minimal parts.

(5) major sections:
- Upper shell
- Lower shell
- Thumb rest
- Side toggle
- Middle switch

From the 3D printing standpoint, the primary design intent was to show following PolyJet capabilities:

- “Create smooth, detailed prototypes that convey final-product aesthetics.”
- “Produce accurate molds, jigs, fixtures and other manufacturing tools.”
- “Achieve complex shapes, intricate details and delicate features.”
