A highly detailed model of an 18th century British flagship. 116 Guns, ranging from bronze 'long nines' to cast iron short 42 pounders. Three gun decks. The first deck holds mostly long 24's with a few batteries of three long 32's near the stern and forecastle, the second deck holds short 32's along the sides and more long 32's at the ends. The lowest gun deck is a row of short 42lb 'smashers' for broadside engagements. There are six bronze 9lb long-range chasers in the bow, and two facing astern. Swivel guns arranged around the railings. There are no carronnades, as this ship served in the 1750's and 60's before those were developed. Three masts with crows nests and marine snipers. Storage down below for livestock, cargo, spare yards and sails, the armory, galley, brig, and ship's lockbox for plundered treasure from Spanish galleons and captured pirates. The ship holds a complement of sailors and marines, and serves as the headquarters of a privateering company that serves the crown. The redcoat soldiers are British royal marines, but the black jackets are ex-soldiers on company payroll. The man sitting at the desk is the executive of the company, and the ship's captain and commanding officer of the marine detachment are on the aft deck next to the ship's wheel. The British flag flies from the mainmast but the privateer flag is on the mizzenmast. Most of the stern cabins are officer's and executive's sleeping quarters, a dining room, and the office of the head of the company. I did not put the full crew on the ship, only a few in various stations to give you an idea of scale. This ship was originally modeled after the HMS Endeavour from Pirates of the Caribbean (Lord Cutler Beckett's flagship), but then I added the forecastle and said 'screw it, this is MY ship so I'll build it the way I like it'. I constructed each deck as a separate group, so you can take it apart and rearrange the insides with ease. I used dozens of different textures for this model, including five or six different wood textures. The flag was made in Microsoft Paint with images from google. I imported generic soldiers in different positions from google and repainted them or took them apart and put different legs and torsos together. The ship's name, Immitis, is Latin for 'without mercy' which is a perfect way to describe a ship designed to hunt down pirates and enemy merchants. If you see something that looks like yours, it probably is, especially if it's furniture, clothing, or livestock. I took someone's wooden desk and loved it so much, I copied one side and made it symmetrical so there's drawers on either side. Please comment if you see something of yours, let everyone know you made a contribution to this project. Special thanks to loverevolutionary, your work is always an inspiration and although I didn't take anything of yours to use, I looked at your models the most because your level of detail is incredible and something we should all aspire to match. Remember, this is a HUGE model, I don't want to dissuade anyone from downloading it but there's a lot of complexity here. Enjoy! #firstrate #flagship #frigate #galleon #HMS_Endeavour #HMS_Victory #pirate #royal_navy #sailing_ship #ship_of_the_line #treasure #warship
