The EPL-QC-QP-1X150LED-RT-X12V-12.3-100 Portable Explosion Proof Tripod Mounted LED Tank Light from Larson Electronics produces 21,000 lumens of light capable of illuminating an area 10,000 square feet in size. This adjustable Cree LED unit is designed for maximum portability and durable, versatile operation. This unit is part of the QC Series, providing a quick disconnect mounting system and compatibility with several additional mounting solutions. The EPL-QC-QP-1X150LED-RT-X12V-12.3-100 features an inline polycase transformer that steps down the input voltage from 120-277V AC down to 12V DC. The EPL-QC-QP-1X150LED-RT-X12V-12.3-100 Class I Divisions 1 & 2 and Class II Divisions 1 & 2 portable explosion proof ladder tripod light fixture provides 21,000 lumens of high quality light output covering a work area of 10,000 square feet. The copper free aluminum alloy body is powder coated for added durability and an attractive aesthetic appearance. A special heat dissipating design in conjunction with LED technology helps this fixture to achieve an excellent 60,000 hour rated lifespan with 80% lumen retention.

This explosion proof LED light fixture is paint spray booth listed, IP67 rated, dust-proof, and protected against high pressure jets and temporary submersion. The cast aluminum body and LED lamp give this light excellent durability and resistance to vibration and impacts. The housing is specially designed to dissipate heat which increases the efficiency and lifespan of the LEDs and electronics.

This portable LED fixture features an integrated LED light head that unit produces a brilliant flood pattern of light and is ideal for illuminating enclosed areas and hazardous locations where flammable vapors, gases and dusts may be present. This portable explosion proof LED tank light features an adjustable tripod and is equipped with a quick change mount. The quick change mounting solution offers versatility and flexibility for operators in the field.

LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.

LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.

LED Drivers: Even in LED fixtures, heat is the single largest factor in premature light failure and color shifting. As a result, many manufacturers reduce the output of their LEDs in order to reduce the amount of heat produced. Rather than lower light output or quality, Larson Electronics addresses this problem with the addition of electronic LED drivers. These internal drivers provide the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. This not only reduces the energy dissipation, effectively lowering the operating temperature of the fixture, but also prevents AC over-voltage and short circuit loading making this fixture virtually maintenance free. Because the electronic drivers allow the Iron X to run at a cooler internal temperature and regulates the electrical current, energy efficiency and LED service hours are maximized while at the same time reducing operating costs and downtime incurred from the frequent servicing intervals required with other hotter running lights.

The explosion proof LED light fixture features multiple LED drivers which helps to increase the operational life of the fixture. With traditional LED lights, in the event an LED array or driver fails, the entire fixture no longer illuminates. With the Iron X series of explosion proof lamps from Larson Electronics, each LED fixture contains six individual LED boards configured in a series of banks. Each bank contains two LED on a single board with an individual driver. In the event of a driver failure, only one bank of LEDs will be effected while the other banks will continue to operate. In the event that of an LED failure, the mating LED will continue to operate.

Beam Angles: When used as a portable lighting solution, the varying beam angles are each individually ideal for several environments. The 60° beam provides the most intense beam of the three options. It is perfect for narrow, confined spaces and is ideally suited for tank cleaning purposes. It offers focused light to provide ample illumination to tight work spaces and other environments. The 125° beam offers a more diffused source of light that is also less intense in brightness. It is a great general area work light and performs well when used for outdoor illumination. We also offer a 140° beam configuration. The 140° beam offers a very wide lighting pattern and is ideal for situations where lighting distance is not a concern, but illumination of a wider area and even light distribution is. The 140° beam is great for situations that call for working in close proximity to lights such as in a paint booth.

This unit produces 21,000 lumens with a color temperature of 5000K standard and a color rendering index of 75 which produces colors and details much more accurately than high pressure sodium or mercury vapor luminaries. We also offer both 3000K warm white and 4500K natural white color temperature options (longer lead times may apply for non-standard temperatures). This lamp uses Cree LED units that have been chosen for their high lumen per watt ratio and extreme longevity. These Cree LEDs generate a robust 140 lumens per watt effective lumen output and have a 80% lumen retention at 60,000 hours, giving them better efficiency and operational life than traditional light sources.

Field Serviceability: This explosion proof LED light fixture is field serviceable. All major internal components can be purchased from Larson Electronics and installed by a licensed electrician with basic tools. With most explosion proof fixtures, the fixture must be returned to the manufacturer for repair work, which presents downtime and long turn around times for repair work. Larson Electronics addresses this issue with the Iron X series with field serviceability, allowing operators to perform service work without having to return the fixture to the manufacturer in the event of damage or failure.

Voltage: The step-down transformer installed in-line provides the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. These transformers can operate on current ranging from 90 to 305V AC or 127 to 431V DC without any modifications necessary as a result. This ability to sense and adjust input current also provides protection against voltage spikes and drops that can occur in electrical systems which would otherwise result in burning up or premature LED failure without it. The inline transformer then steps down the input voltage to 12V DC to power the explosion proof light. We also offer an additional 347-480V high voltage, 125-250V DC, and 0-10V dimmable versions of this explosion proof LED light fixture.

Wiring & Plug: This explosion proof portable lighting system is equipped with 100 feet of 12/3 chemical and abrasion resistant SOOW cord that is fitted with an industrial grade cord cap for easy connection to common wall outlets. Plug options include standard 5-15 15 amp straight blade plug for 110V wall outlets with ground, standard 6-15 15 amp straight blade plug for 220-240V wall outlets with ground, NEMA L5-15 15 amp twist lock plug for 125V twist lock outlets, NEMA L6-15 15 amp twist lock plug for 240V twist lock outlets, British BS1363 13 amp fused 3-blade plug for United Kingdom outlets, or a two pin 16 amp rated Schuko plug with ground contact and socket for European outlets up to 250V. Alternatively, we can provide flying leads with no plug for hard wire applications or for operators who prefer to wire in user provided cord caps. Additional configurations include explosion proof cord caps, weatherproof cord caps, shore power cord caps, weatherproof NEMA 3R/4 in-line step-down transformers, and explosion proof NEMA 7/9 in-line step-down transformers.

Mounting: This portable LED light is comprised of an adjustable LED light head mounted atop a three leg tripod fabricated from non-sparking powder coated aluminum. The telescoping center pole raises the tripod from 7 feet to over 12 feet in height. The legs can be completely collapsed for easy transportation and storage. This telescoping tripod is equipped with two rubber casters and features a blue powder coating. The material is non-sparking copper-free aluminum. When extended and ready for use, the tripod has a base width of 87.66" and stands 7 to 12 feet tall.

Often referred to as simply a "tank light," this unit is considered universal due to its ability to be passed through any conventional manhole such as those found in petrochemical containers and ship storage tanks. Transferring the unit through manholes consists of simply removing the light head from the base, passing the light head and base through the manhole separately, and then reassembling the unit once inside.

Quick Change Mounting System: The Quick Change (QC Series) mounting system from Larson Electronics features an innovative quick change design platform, allowing operators to quickly mount and dismount the light head assembly from the mounting base. To mount a QC Series compatible light fixture, operators simply slide the male end mounting section of the light assembly into the female end mounting section on the mounting base, then tighten the locking ring to ensure the light assembly has been secured. To dismount, operators unscrew the locking ring, slide the light head assembly forward, and the light assembly has been removed.

Each mount is manufactured from non-sparking aluminum and powder coated for additional corrosion resistance. The quick disconnect male and female adapters are CNC machined for precise fitment, and the mounting solutions are manufactured in an ISO 9001 manufacturing facility.

The QC Series offers multiple mounting options, ranging from portable and magnetic stands to carts and towers. This quick connect mounting solution allows operators to quickly and effortlessly use one light assembly on the entire range of mounting solutions in the QC family. The lock ring system is designed to be operational while wearing industrial gloves with no tools required. This is the ideal solution for portable hazardous location lighting.
