These are parts I designed to make the 101 hero more kid friendly by hiding some of the exposed power supply wiring and circuitry of the full graphic controller when using the ramps 1.4 setup. They are designed to use minimal support and they slide over the pylons to not only protect your electronics, but add to the printer stability.
The base pieces were designed to be used with a setup including NEMA 17 motors
When Assembling the base, it is easiest to disconnect the belt from the pylons to allow for enough slack to position the motors.
Base pieces use the existing black screw from the original 101 Hero Stepper Motors to attach the base to the pylon. They also use 2x 12mm m3 screws to connect the nema 17 stepper motors to the base piece.
Pro Tip for attaching pylon base pieces: Insert the M3 screws for the motor mount before attaching the base to the pylon. This will make it easier to line up your screw-driver through the holes in the front with the screw inside.
**I have not tried the vented pieces yet, but the non switch versions support a 40mm fan and the switch version (vented and non-vented) will support the following switch assembly:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00511QVVK?psc=1
