A strange church is located west of the archaeological site of Ancient Mantinia, the Church of St. Fotini. The construction of the temple was completed in 1969 by the architect, painter and hagiographer Kostas Papatheodorou and inaugurated in 1978 by the then Bishop Theokletos B Philippeos.'Hidden' from the eyes of the world, away from the main road leading from Vitina the toll highway, the church of Agia Fotini is located about 12 km away from the city of Tripoli, the main road to the village temple of Artemis, the foot of the homonymous sanctuary Terms of Artemis. The church differs from the usual, being built with materials from the archaeological site of Ancient Mantinia. It is constructed in such a way as to 'marry' harmonious Byzantine, ancient Greek and Egyptian architectural elements. West of the church is the Jacob's Well, which symbolizes the meeting of Jesus with the Samaritan woman. In the courtyard of the church is the Heroes Garden in honor of all those who fought for their country and originating from the IGC the City Mantinia. #arcadia #church #strange
