The insertion portion model measures 45.20mm square which accounts for variation in the internal dimensions of an actual leg. As much as .3% for PLA shrinkage is also considered and should provide up to an additonal .13mm clearance. Once printed ensure that bottom and top edges are cleaned up and possibly slightly chamfered as the fit is intentionally tight so as not to require glue for assembly. You should find the pieces assemble with some firm rapping of the assembly onto a solid surface once the pieces are started together. If you are finding this too difficult you may want scale the assembly and use glue but I preferred the full scale print method to ensure the legs remain as straight as possible.
Application is to join two cut leg ends when using 2 lack tables to achieve a taller internal area. I reworked the design incorporating cross and corner bracing for increased strength. The outer corners are slightly flileted to more widely distribute the pressure on the wood at the corners.
The center divider adds 4mm to the overall assembled leg height. It's a single piece print. Transparency and color were used during design to ensure the various elements meshed. The overhanging center section is minor enough to not require supports.
Sliced in Cura: PLA Medium - 1.2mm wall/top/bottom thickness. 10% fill, 3mm outer brim, no supports.
