Following reviews of the Yeswelder EH-091XL, I ordered a Lincoln KP3908-1 Headgear to replace the inadequate stock unit. To my surprise, when I inspected the helmet I had found that the cutouts on the Yeswelder helmet were changed from the square Lincoln style. After trying unsuccessfully to mate parts from the two helmets, I realized that I would need to manufacture parts with the Yeswelder cutout mating features.
The friction side is simple, and has a small snap fit tab at the top, optimized for a 0.3- 0.4mm nozzle.
The detent side is complex and more difficult to print. I omitted the snap fit tabs on this part for ease of printing. This part requires precision, I printed the detent portion with 0.05mm layer height. I have included a -MOD version which has a hole, rather than a pin. A 3mm wood dowel works well, in lieu of a HDPE or metal dowel.
These need to be strong. I printed hot with good cooling. 0.4mm nozzle max.
