Yamaha xt250 Storage Tool Tube

The Yamaha xt250 Enduro motorcycle has a tool compartment. What is ironic is that you need a tool to get into the tool compartment :P But it's actually quite spacious and this compartment exists on both sides of the motorcycle with the factory/stock toolkit being located on the right side.

I plan on carrying a larger toolkit on the back of my motorcycle but I would like to make use of this space for insurance documents, maybe toolkit overflow, other things. I noticed it gets pretty dusty/dirty in there and I could just put everything in a zip lock I guess but I like the idea of a semi sealed compartment.
So I took some measurements and used the customizer on wstein's "Customizable Container with Knurled Lid"
The tube container fits really well in the space. Using the customizer I set the diameter to 40mm and 160mm for Length. This means the tube is closer to 44mm diameter and 164mm in length. The rubber band that is part of the tool tray on the motorcycle just fits around the 3D printed tube.
The tube doesn't hold quite as much as the vinyl pouch that comes with the tool kit so in some ways it isn't as practical. ...but it still makes me happy. Hopefully it will hold up the heat of the engine just below. My tool tube will utilize PETG for the printed material and some riding in hot weather this summer will be the ultimate test.
There is also another YouTube video that shows a replacement bolt you can put on the outside plastics so that you don't need a tool to get into the tool space.
